"I can't believe you went to Canterlot for 10 days without me!" Daphne shouted angrily, crushing Colten with a hug. "WHOA!" Colten exclaimed, a bit uncomfortable; Daphne was restricting all of his movement. "What am I ever going to do with you, Daphne?" Colten thought, sighing internally. "How was it, by the way?" Daphne asked, still hugging him. Daphne didn't want to let go. She loved Colten too much.

"It was fun!" Colten said. "I found this really nice kite there! It cost a lot of money, but I've been saving up for this for months! I'm going to go fly it on the weekend." Daphne, still hugging Colten, asked rather creepily, "Did ya get anything for meeeeee? I saved some candy from Nightmare Night for yoooooou! Litera didn't, though." Colten, helpless to free himself, responded by saying, "No, I didn't get anything for you." Daphne's hug became tighter in a fit of passive aggressive pre-teen rage. "Thank you for the candy, though…" Colten said, barely able to breathe.

Daphne immediately released Colten, turned her back to him, and crossed her arms. "No candy for you! I'm sure you got something for LI-TE-RA, though!" And with that, Daphne picked up her binder and pencil case, which had been in front of her locker, and stalked into art class, livid beyond belief. Colten sighed, exasperated, but immediately perked up when Litera said, "Welcome back." Colten liked Litera, and had tried to ask her out once, but she declined, telling him to save it for Daphne.

"So, is Daphne right? Did you get something for me?" Litera honestly didn't care whether or not he did; it just wouldn't be fair if he had. "Actually, she's wrong," Colten said. "I didn't buy anything for anyone." Litera breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. If you had, Daphne would never speak to either of us again. And you know she would actually do that. Her only contact with us would be her slapping us across our faces." Colten laughed nervously. Daphne was truly terrifying when she was mad.

The first bell of the school day rang. "Come on, let's go to art and see the look on Daphne's face," Litera said, picking her stuff up. Colten did the same, and they entered the classroom, only to find a depressed Daphne, her head resting on her hoof, looking down at her desk, and wearing a frown. "Oh, wow, she's especially passionate today," Litera thought, walking over to her desk on the other end of the room. However, she never took her eyes off Daphne's face. She watched as Daphne noticed Colten sit down at his desk, and she noticed how she looked at him dreamily. "Hm…" Litera sighed, wishing that she could think of some way to make Colten like Daphne.

The day passed by normally. Colten was distracted by everything in music class, despite being able to play the xylophone on a regular basis, he spent lunch in the drama room with an adoring Daphne, who stole some of his lunch, and Litera, who was more interested in talking to the pony SHE liked than anything. More distraction in math, and another science test coming up. The end of the day was his favourite part. There was play rehearsal today, and he was one of the lead roles. Daphne and Litera were in the play, too. Daphne had virtually no spoken lines, but had to sing some pretty high notes, and Litera had more spoken lines, but not as impressive sung lines.

The week passed by like this. Colten knew that Daphne really liked him, and she was probably the only girl in the school who liked him romantically, and he felt really bad that he didn't like her like that. He remembered the time she kissed him on the cheek at a fundraiser for the school. He had been stunned. He was speechless; he barely noticed when Litera said goodbye to him. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. It was Daphne and Litera. They were going to the park today to fly the kite Colten had picked up in Canterlot. Colten ran downstairs and opened the door. Daphne, of course, knocked the wind out of him with a hug. "I… can't breathe…" he wheezed. Daphne heard this, and she immediately let him go. "Sorry… You're just so cute!" she fawned.

The three friends went to the park and flew kites all afternoon. Colten, of course, flew his with the most skill. "Let's go fly a kite~ Up to the highest height~ Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring~!" Naturally, Daphne just had to sing that song. She was too musical for her own good. "You know, it would be awesome if our school did Mary Poppins at some point! And if I got to be Mary Poppins… To heck with the fact that my mane is blonde!" Colten just shook his head. How much more obscure could Daphne get? "Botany Bay? Botany Bay?! Oh, noooo!" …About that obscure. And Litera actually knew what Daphne was talking about…

Suddenly, it was 7 o'clock. "Aw, but I was having so much fun!" Daphne, who was slightly burnt, said. "Does it have to be 7 already?!" Nevertheless, the three friends walked back to Colten's house, where the girls would leave Colten and walk to their own houses. …Although, Daphne would probably fly, because she had wings. The trio reached Colten's house. "I'll see you two on Monday, OK?" Colten said. Daphne looked like she was preparing to do something. "Yeah, we'll see you later, Colt!" Litera said. Finally, Daphne worked up enough courage to do what she was going to do. She kissed Colten on the cheek. Once again, Colten was stunned. Daphne giggled ditzily and galloped off.

On Monday, when Colten got to school, he saw Daphne, and, to his surprise, he blushed. She was at her locker, getting her stuff ready for Art Class. She had a blank expression on her face, but, in truth, that wasn't unusual. In Art, Colten couldn't help but look back at the Fairy-Type Pony once every 30 seconds. Once or twice, they made eye contact. Daphne grinned and waved at him, and Colten waved back. "It's happened at last," Colten thought. He liked Daphne, and Daphne liked him. Would anything come from their affections? "Maybe."
This is the short story I wrote to claim my sweetheart, whom I named Colten Flighty! ...I know. Daphne is a jealous b****. She's based off of me and my obsession with the guy I like. And, yes, I know the story's a bit rushed. My apologies.
